MANCINI cools England links

Former Inter and Manchester City boss Mancini have insisted that he has not been contacted by the FA on the possibility of taking over the Three Lions job.

Gareth Southgate has been in charge of the team since Sam Allardyce left the post after being promoted from the U-21s. He has won one and drawn the other and is believed to be the leading candidate for the job from his first two World Cup qualifying games in charge.

Rumours have it that a win over Scotland at Wembley on November 11could be what he needs to land the job on a permanent basis.

“There’s nothing for now with the England national team,” Mancini told Calciomercato.com.
On his second spell in charge of Inter which came to an end in August, he claims he is not a fan of the present crop.

“I haven’t seen any of the games, so I have nothing to say on Inter,” he added.

On the rumours linking former president Massimo Moratti with a return to the boardroom at San Siro, he said: “You’d have to ask Moratti if he really wants to come back, but I have nothing to do with it.”

Inter play at home to Cagliari on Sunday in the week 9 of the Serie A.
