TOP FIVE PREMIER LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL GOAL SCORERS

The EPL has seen many wonderful players grace the game of
soccer. Players of different descent have been performing well for their country which seems to have gone under the radar. Here is the list of the top five premier league international goal scorers.
Shinji Okazaki-50
2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier - Cambodia v Japan
Okazaki in always in top form for Japan

An unlikely name topping the list one would say but the premier league winner has netted a commanding 50 times in 108 outings for the Samurai Blue ranking third on his country’s all-time scoring chart. It took him less than four months to score his first international goal after making his full debut in October 2008. The Leicester City forward was a lynchpin in the all-conquering Foxes that defied the odds in 2015/2016 EPL season. He has scored three hat-tricks for his country and remains the only active top marksman for his country. His best return came in 2009 when he scored 15 times in 16 appearances though is with only a goal in 2 appearances this calendar year.

Javier Hernandes-49

Mexico Training Session - FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013
Chicarito is El Tri's leading top scorer

Popularly known as Chicharito, the fox in the box striker is one of the most feared. He was only 21 when he made his debut for Mexico opening his account with two goals against Bolivia. Highly revered, he has scored in every FIFA World Cup he has participated in- 2010 and 2014. With almost a century cap to his credit, he has found the back of the net 49 times in El Tri’s colors with his last coming against Trinidad and Tobago on the 6th of October making him the second most prolific striker on the list and the all-time highest goal scorer for the Mexico National team. He had his best return in 2011 when he averaged almost a goal in every appearance– 12 goals in 13 matches and with qualification for the 2018 World Cup sealed, he is sure to add to that tally.
Sergio Aguero-43
Argentina v Bolivia: Group D - Copa America Centenario
Aguero has found glory hard to come by

One of the few World Class strikers present in the English Premier League; he is a predator. The two-time premier league winner hasn’t enjoyed much of a success on the international front. Despite making a name for himself at club level, he and his colleagues have flattered to deceive in the Albiceleste colors. Made his debut in 2006 after winning the U-20 World Cup with five-time World player of the year Lionel Messi before repeating the same feat in 2007, he has played 83 more times and scored 36 goals for Argentina. The Manchester City all-rounder scored his first against Bolivia in a 2010 World Cup qualifier and his last in a 2-4 international friendly loss to Nigeria on November 14th, 2017, a match in which he reportedly fainted at halftime in the dressing room. He had his best goal-game ratio in 2015 when he made ten appearances and recorded a goal in each. Being a part of a supremely talented generation of players that have failed to achieve anything noteworthy has taken a toll on him.
Alexis Sanchez-39
Germany v Chile: Group B - FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017

The pacy winger has enjoyed an international career so many players would have fancied winning accolades for both club and country. He is not the one to hide. Held in high regards, he even made his international debut in 2006 before returning to age-grade football helping his country to a third-place finish in the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup. And that same year, he scored his first senior goal against Switzerland despite bowing 1-2 on the night. The versatile 28-year old Arsenal forward has been a mainstay in the team playing a major role in the La Roja team that won the back to back Copa America titles in 2015 and 2016. He has hit 39 goals in 119 outings for Chile making himself a household name in his country.
David Silva-35
Spain v Israel - FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier

Silva is one of the midfielders to have done it on the highest levelThe 31-year old Manchester City midfielder is a joy to behold when on the field of play. The Spanish international has scored an impressive 35 times on international duty with his first two coming against Greece in an international friendly in 2007 on his sixth cap after making his debut in 2006. He has since gone on to play 117 times and became an integral part of the team that conquered Europe and the World with back to back European titles in 2008 and 2012 with a World Cup sandwiched in between in 2010 replicating his club form - an enviable career it is. Silva is showing no sign of slowing down though enjoying an impressive spell under the new boss with 9 goals in 12 matches to his creditmainstay
