Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo

Barcelona were 4-star winners over Deportivo as Messi makes a scoring return. Brazilian Rafinha broke the deadlock after a clever interchange with Luis Suarez sending a low drive beyond Lux. then added his second of the match nine minutes before the interval, pouncing on a rebound and converting an easy finish after Lux failed to keep hold of an header from Pique.

Suarez got his well deserved goal with a lovely effort just before his half-time withdrawal for Paco Alcacer ahead of Wednesday’s crucial fixture after beating Raul Albentosa on the turn. Messi wrapped things up shortly after entering the fray smashing a Neymar cut-back past Lux.

Real Betis 1-6 Real Madrid

Madrid were back to winning ways with an emphatic 6-1 bashing away at Betis after a succession of draws. Varane grabbed the opener in the 4th minute off a Toni Kroos’ free-kick delivery with a good header. Kroos was on hand again to slide a neat pass to Benzema for the second of the game. And with six minute to the break, Marcelo was fortuitous enough to scuff an effort home after Benzema's initial effort was deflected to his path. The fourth came from Isco who rounded the keeper after Ronaldo squared for him following a superb counter attack started by Pepe. Betis found a consolation when half-time substitute Cejudo slammed a composed finish past Navas with the pass from Joaquin. It wasn't going to last though as Isco had other plans when Ronaldo cross fell to Isco and the midfielder curled a fine effort into the top-right corner. Ronaldo then crowned the win racing onto a Morata through ball to prod past Adan. It is Betis' biggest defeat in a LaLiga game at home.
