EPL wrap-up- Saturday

Manchester City 1-1 Everton

City failed to win against Everton and to compound their misery, they failed to convert two penalties. Marten Stekelenburg was in imperial form with a series of saves to his credit including two penalties from both De Bryune and Aguero. Stekelenburg saved De Bruyne’s penalty after Jagielka clumsily tripped Silva in the area with two minutes to the interval. Hell let loose when Romelu Lukaku scored from a superb counter attack with the flick from Bolasie as he dribbled Gael Clichy effectively after both Otamendi and Stones were nowhere to be found. Jagielka was having a nightmare of a day after he again gave away another penalty with a heavy challenge on Aguero, only for the Argentine to see his tame effort kept out by Stekelenburg in an immaculate display. Nolito salvaged a point to avoid an embarrassing defeat immediately after his introduction heading home a Silva cross on his 30th birthday.

Arsenal 3-2 Swansea

The Gunners found the breakthrough in the 26th minute when Hector Bellerin headed Alexis Sanchez’s looped pass across goal and Walcott stole in ahead of the dawdling Jordi Amat to guide his shot inside the near post. Wlacott lashed home on a the spin a Jack Cork’s poor headed clearance to give his team a two goal lead. Sigurdsson then pounced onto a Xhaka mistake to curl home a beautiful effort into the top-left corner. Ozil restored Arsenal’s two-goal cushion with a thumping volley from inside the six-yard box before Leon Britton ensured the match finished tensely after he slotted home from a Barrow cut-back. Arsenal held on to the lead despite Xhaka receiving a straight red card for a reckless tackle from behind on Barrow.

Chelsea 3-0 Leicester City

The Blues found themselves in front from the first corner of the match when Diego Costa converted. Unfortunately for Leicester and fortunately for Hazard, errors from Robert Huth and Luis Hernandez gifted Hazard the second goal as he rounded the keeper before slotting home. Victor Moses made sure it was a sensational first half and evening for the home team as he tucked home Chalobah's flicked pass.
