Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the hero as United got their first win in the Europa League defeating their Ukranian visitors 1-0 at Old Trafford. United failed to break down a dogged Zorya defense as the United stars flattered to deceive.

In the first half, Marcus Rashford hit the underside of the crossbar with a rocket shot off a corner. Chances were few in the game, but stand-in goalkeeper, Sergio Romero produced a fantastic save to deny Paulinho before Rooney's introduction tipping the shot around the post. United opened the scoring in the second half fortuitously after a missed shot by Rooney fell into Ibrahimovic's path who graciously headed home in the 67th minute.
