SOUTHGATE recalls Rashford and Johnson

Caretaker boss, Gareth Southgate has named his first squad at the helm of affairs. He has handed recalls to both Marcus Rashford and Glen Johnson.

Joe Hart retains his place in the team despite being exiled by Pep Guardiola. Manchester United winger, Jese Lingard has also been handed another chance to stake a claim in the team. Captain Wayne Rooney continues despite growing calls for him to be dropped. West Ham's Antonio has also made the squad after his impressive displays last season the current campaign
Harry Kane and Luke Shaw remains the notable absentee.

Goalkeepers: Forster, Hart, Heaton

Defenders: Bertrand, Cahill, Jagielka, Johnson, Rose, Smalling, Stones, Walker

Midfielders: Dier, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Antonio, Lingard, Sterling, Walcott, Alli

Strikers: Rooney, Rashford, Sturridge, Vardy

Gareth Southgate replaced Sam Allardyce after the former Blackburn boss agreed to mutually terminate his contract with the FA. The England's youth team boss will stay in charge until a new Coach on a permanent basis is announced.
