AFCON 2017 draw

The AFCON 2017 billed for Gabon is set for mouthwatering clashes between the continent's heavyweights. The tournament will come up between January and February 2017. 16 teams have been grouped into four on the 19th of October 2016 and all groups are very tight on paper.

Host nation Gabon are in group A with Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau. Former Champions Egypt who have been absent for three straight AFCON are in group D with Ghana, Mali and Uganda. 2015 Champions Ivory Coast are to play DR Congo, Morocco and Togo. Nigeria would play no part after losing their group to Egypt making it two straight AFCON without their presence after their 2013 triumph.
