Lionel Messi scores on second debut
Lionel Messi scored on his return to the international fold just over two months after his retirement. He scored his 56th goal for the Albicelleste when his shot took a heavy deflection off Gimenez as 10-man Argentina secured a 1-0 over Uruguay.

Colombia defeated Venezuela 2-0 despite Carlos Bacca and James Rodriguez missing from the penalty spot. James Rodriguez opened the scoring in the 45th minute before Macnelly Torres added a second.

Tite got a winning sart to life as Brazil's coach with a resounding 3-0 victory away at Ecuador. Olympics hero Gabigol scored a brace while Barcelona hitman scored the other at a ground they haven't won in a very long time.

South Korea defeated China 3-2 at home. Iran were 2-0 victors over Qatar while Japan surprisingly lost 1-2 at home to U.A.E at home despite Honda opening the scoring.
