VARELA out for four months

Guillermo Varela is set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle ligament damage.

He joined Frankfurt on a season-long loan fron United after failing to convince Mourinho, Varela clashed with an opposing striker, Darmstadt 98’s Sven Schipplock  last weekend that curtailed his appearance.  He could be out for up to four months.


Sporting director Fredi Bobic expressed his concerns over the tackle.
“I immediately had a bad feeling. It was a very unnecessary tackle.”
He will return to Carrington to for his rehabilitation programme and could see his loan terminated.
Unfortunately, this latest setback could see him fail to reassert himself on Manchester United’s senior side
