The 32-year old scored 24 times for his country and played his last game yesterday in a 2-0 victory over Fin;land in a match that wasn't about the scoreline but about the German. Emotions got the better of him before the match started.
He has however fallen out of favour with Mourinho at the Theatre of Dreams banishing him to the reserves due to surplus players in the middle of the park.
