The 24-year old centre-back has heaped praise on the Swede
and new coach, Mourinho. He is looking forward to the upcoming season and hoping to stake a claim in EPL's opening day starting line up. He played 23 minutes of United's 5-2 win over Gala. He said,
“It’s a step forward. The first game is always difficult, getting back into the rhythm of things. There have been quite a few changes with personnel. But it’s nice to be back, get minutes and keep improving.”
On the matches to come.
“We look strong. We’re getting fitter game by game and we’ve still got to improve on some areas that we’ve been working on. I'm sure we’ll be there or thereabouts come the start of the season.”
He also insisted he was unsurprised about Ibrahimovic's goal.
“We’ve seen him do that many times before so let’s hope he can keep doing it. It’s been good. He’s obviously a confident boy, his talent is there for everyone to see. He’s a great guy off the pitch as well so hopefully he will keep scoring goals for us.”
Jones played 10 times for United last season in a injury ravaged season.
