WHAT the future holds for Harry Kane

For a player tagged as a one season wonder -his fans mocked, he
has totally proved doubters wrong and put accusations to bed and is on course to seal his place in the hall of fame after maintaining a level of consistency unrivalled in the league. A born scorer with a predatory instinct of that of a Tiger, only Wayne Rooney has come close since the days of Alan Shearer.

The striker has hit 20 or more goals for the third season in a row. He is a born goal scorer. It has been a while since English football featured such.He made a relatively low-key start to his breakthrough campaign yet he went on to score 21 goals in the 2014-2015 campaign that marked the start of a new era for the Spurs. 25 goals last season meant that good things followed suit, Spurs have been in hot form since his ascension and despite coming third last season, they have progressed to the second position in the just concluded 2016-2017 EPL season and you can’t put it past them to win the title next year with some twists and experience they have garnered over the past years.
A one season wonder, huh?-mirror.co.uk
When he broke into the Tottenham team, there were doubts over his ability, I was particularly concerned.

Hitting seven goals in the last two games of the league (four against Leicester and a hat trick at Hull) is no mean feat to all but seal his place at the top of the scoring chart for the second time in a row and twice in the last three years. Even the almighty Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is not in the hottest of forms that the England striker is in. Despite having an injury-hit season, he hit an astonishing 29 league goals in 30 games missing eight games- the best his career has witnessed. Not known for his pace, he has complemented this with a sharp eye for goal with an ever improving pass rate. Be it inside the box, Kane is a Fox, a 25-yarder -he hits them well and using his head is so close to perfection. Much of a hard-worker, he has always been at the forefront of criticism but he has gone about his business in an old-fashioned way.

With Wayne Rooney surely out of the picture, England would do well to build the Three Lions around the Tottenham man. Blamed for his lacklustre performance at the Euros, many forget that he is still young and fatigue cannot be avoided in football not forgetting the fact that he had to shuffle in the between age grade football and the national team. He is a man destined for the top and could well go on to be the man to carry the country’s hope for the best part of generations to come.

With the transfer window soon to open, the ever present vultures of the market are already peeping through the window getting ready to pounce at any sign of blood. And at 23, yet to reach his peak, top clubs in Europe could snatch him up in similar fashion to Gareth Bale (you know whom we are talking about) if Spurs fail to match his ambition despite qualifying for the continental showpiece for the second straight season. Although all signs point to him staying at the White Hart Lane after renewing his contract, football is a crazy game. A team like Manchester United could do with such emblem of a striker in their frontline.

Either ways, he would be remembered as the man who scored the club’s last goal at the White Hart Lane fittingly against the Red Devils. The best business the North-London team could do in the coming window is to ward off suitors by convincing him to stay. They have a gem in their hands and he could be the one to define their upcoming campaign once again.
