ROONEY responds to critics

After being caught in the early hours at a party and slammed by most sections of the media, Rooney has responded thinking he deserved more after years of loyal service.

“What's been going on is disgraceful. I'm proud to play for my country and I'm proud of my achievements. It's not finished yet.“I think what's been going on is disgraceful. It shows a lack of respect and I think enough is enough. That's all I want to say.”

Rooney was dropped for their last qualifier due to injury and went on to gate-crash a wedding party. Ex-internationals have drummed support for the Three Lions' captain that he should be cut some slack as it was on an off-day.
