Portugal have been crowned the champions of Europe after a
mouthwatering encounter with France. Eder settled scores with a fantastic low strike in extra time. Rui Patricio became the stopping block for France making a series of World class saves. Ronaldo limped off early in the match with a knee injury after a collision with Payet. It seemed to be an uphill task for Portugal without their starman.
France maintained pressure with Sissoko the main man having played a number of shots at goal. Gignac hit the post after replacing Giroud so also did Guerrero with a fantastic curling free kick that beat Loris in goal. However, Lille striker, Eder hit a low shot from outside the 18-yard box after holding off Kosceilny finally beating Loris in the 109th minute. Ronaldo, the happy man urged his teammates to hold on and they did to win Portugal's first ever major title. Portugal are the new champions of European football.
