Nigeria u-17 screening; tear and joy

A three-week open screening exercise at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja which was attended by many thousands of hopefuls, who dream of being the new talk of the town. 60 players who made the cut will have to undergo MRI scan to ascertain that they are within the age bracket of 17yrs. 30 players will be selected to prosecute the upcoming Afcon qualifiers against continental neighbour Niger.

Nigeria have won the U17 World Cup a record five times – 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013 and 2015.
